Hello all! I hope everyone is having a great night... so looking through some penny rolls last night and I came across this guy which at first I thought was just a regular 1924 no mint mark and I was just getting ready to put it where I need to go and light-headed or something just right that I can barely see the D mint mark... so it's really faded but it's there lol... anyhow pretty excited about it especially since that's a hole in my collection I can fill now, even tho it's in bad shape... so I have a few questions I'd like to get anybody's thoughts and ideas on... it almost looks in some of the pics that it might have had some pretty heavy MD, but once again it's there a pretty heavily worn coin... I'm also really curious as to what's going on on the reverse... I know that there's a gouge just on the coin itself from probably being stepped on or something at some point but I'm curious as to the crack lines... is this post damage as well or are those die cracks and that guy was just getting ready to fall all the way apart? Like I said I'm curious to see what anyone has to say about it as always I appreciate the feedback...

This coin is toast , Heavily damaged and very worn . To attributed it as a 24-D might not even make PO-01, if it does it will be a details coin . . Might be worth $2 to somebody .

You could try a 100% pure acetone soak? It is a 1924-D.Can't see any error or variety though. Grades higher than a PO-1 but would get a details designation, IMHO.
