Congrats on 10k
I set limits assuming the entire jar was filled with only one denomination, to start with, and calculated an approximate jar volume of 23.5 fl. oz.
Full of only dimes and using an approximation of the volume of a single dime, I get an upper limit of around $189.00
Full of only quarters and using an approximation of the volume of a single quarter, based on an approximate jar size relative to the nearby coke can, and converting from liquid volume in fl.oz. to solid volume in oz (1.04 conversion factor) with 90% full, or about $144.00 estimated.
The lower limit was set assuming the entire jar was filled with cents at approximately 900 cents to 24 fl oz, or $9.00 estimated.
Since this is clearly not the case per your OP, my wild guess is that it must be less than the upper limit I calculated and greater than the lower limit, or between $9.00 and $189.00
The overall decline of cents in circulation leads to more wild speculation on my part that nickels and dimes will be represented in greater quantity than the number of quarters or cents.
My completely random guess is $78.03

Contest is finally over and currently tabulating.

Congratulations to Spence - one of our hard working CCF moderators. Well played. @NS - thank you for the contest, much appreciated. It would be nice to show the prizes, although our winner could do so if he chooses to.

Sorry, I got sidetracked - meant to put them up earlier. I will take pictures and post before I pack them for shipping to our winner. Thanks to all for participating.
