I only ever sent a few coins off to be graded, probably 20 years ago, when I was still a teenager. Working on collecting a set of Walking half dollars and decided to pickup this one first. What do y'all think about this coins condition. Should I get it graded? There a couple of dings and scratches I'm worried about. -Thanks.

I'd be most concerned about the obverse rim bruises more than anything else.

So, I'd go with either a straight grade of "F-15" or a "Fine Details - Rim Damage" details grade depending on what it looks like in-hand. It could go either way.

...dings & scratches aside, that's a nice coin ... hard 2 get in any condition ... I'm not a slabber, as I like to handle (carefully) my coins, & I think professional 3rd party opinions are a personal choice ... I also think you'd get as good an evaluation here ... keep posted, & keep posting ...

I'll say F-12 straight, but the upper obverse rim is of concern.

I think it might have enough meat to make VF-20.

to the CCF

That is a nice key date coin, I suggest F12/F15 grade range although the upper obverse rim damage might be significant enough to warrant a Details designation.

I would keep it as-is and continue pursuing the set.

The areas on the OBV rim above the E and to the right of R in Liberty appear to be Cuds. Anybody else ?

Doing an overlay...you would think that rim nick(s) would appear on the reverse below the D and corresponding L of DOLLAR...? I'm not seeing it though? Though the rim does seem to be somewhat out of round on the obverse pic there...?
IDK?

Edge hits, they don't always show up on both sides.
