Roll wrappers are collectable in my perspective. Here are the wrappings for the year 2005 pennies. It was a transition year and if you look at the first 2 rolls at the logo they went from the small mint Logo on the wrapping to the large mint logo.

The year 2007 shows the 5 types of wrapping used for the modern pennies from the year 2000 to the end of the penny of 2012. If you look close at the center shrink wrap roll it has a full seam(plastic welded) the full length of the wrap. These are very scarce.

This coin wrapper did all the coins and was mathematically orientated by the diameter of the coin. As you rolled say nickel dollars it would tell you what coins they were and the value in the 2 little holes on the wrapper. We used these in the 1970s all the time.

I love this topic. I have never saved just the wrappers but now I feel motivated to go through some small boxes of rolled coin to check what the wrappers are like.

These 2010 poppy rolls are the most over looked because the mint released the plain white paper wrapped to all the little post offices across Canada and gave them to hand out the coins in there little communities, Depending on the population determined how many rolls they got. This is the most over looked original roll Canada ever made. Say if you went on E-Bay many would think they were hand rolled. Not so!!

I have a number of these wrappers housing nickels from the 1960's. Did a quick google search and it appears that G.L. Dodds Ltd. was incorporated in 1948. The address is different but that could have happened for any number of reasons. Anybody know anything about this business?

Quote: Anybody know anything about this business? Just from a little google searching. It was dissolved in May, 1978. It was a small company, with up to three employees for tax purposes. I'm not seeing an immediate connection with the GL Dodd who was a Winnepegian naturalist as this one evidently had not kids and died prior to the formation of the company that you are investigating: ( https://www.gent.name/sask:towns:pi...hthyosauria)More likely is the GL Dodd who lived in Orangeville in 1960 and was a mason: https://dn790005.ca.archive.org/0/i...1960onta.pdf

Enyaw - here is the collection of our Canadian 1 cent rolls and varieties for 2006. The best year of all and the only other roll missing is the 2006 no logo magnetic the guy in Hamilton got a case. Hes on ebay flooding the market. For all have a good look at the wrappings and what type of coins are in the rolls.
