My coin show travel tends to fall under 50 miles. Curmudgeons still run thick...mostly.

I don't go to coin shows, but I do visit Antique shops that sell coins - the farthest I went was to Fishguard in Wales UK. (from Phoenix AZ)
But I was 'in country' for other reasons too - but I 'did' travel there.

It's not entirely relevant to the discussion, but I timed my visit to London, Ontario in 2023 to coincide with the London Numismatic Society club meeting. I didn't travel 15,474 km just to attend a coin club meeting - but it was on the to-do list.
Well done.

I'm live in Northern Ontario and drove the the ANA's coin show in Philly and also flow to Orlando Florida for the Fun Show but that was about 20 years ago now.
There are NO coins shows in my area.

Sadly I've never been to a coin show. I need to change that. I'm sure there are plenty in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio but I don't hear much about that kind of thing here in Austin. Probably just not paying enough attention.

I live in southern California and I've flown to Florida FUN Show, Pittsburgh ANA, and Chicago ANA. Farthest I've driven was from San Antonio when I was living there to the Arlington (Dallas) TNA show, a little over 4 hours. I stayed a night or two and drove back.

I would recommend flying cross country to visit a major national show, either the ANA or a FUN show. It is worth every penny.
Suffering from bust half fever.

From Sydney to Manchester UK.
As part of my travels, I visited a coin show, where I bought a U.S. gold dollar at a {then} bargain price. That was waaaay back in 1971.
I still have the coin in my collection !

I have been continuously and actively building my collection since 1963, buying from bricks 'n mortar coin dealers in the early days, now mainly by attending coin shows and auctions.
Never bought on line, have always liked to visually inspect each coin in hand, before deciding on a purchase.

I have seen dealers' inventory in the U.S., but when they perceived me as a tourist rather than an enthusiastic collector, the prices offered were too high.

When I first read the thread title, I thought this question was about the mental decline regarding our aging forum members. :-)

But, as for coin shows, only local stuff which is always a combination of coins, antiques and collectibles. The bigger shows are in the big city but the cost of flying is a no-go for me.
