Newbie, first post! I have some Liberty Buffalo 1 oz Silver rounds. I have not seen any like them on the Internet after much searching. Could anyone tell me about what years these were minted. Also any other information you might know about them? The point I'm interested in is the stamping "one troy ounce" on the collar, behind the braid of the Indian head. Thanks

Hello and There are several silver ounce designs that bear no date, but one could assume within the last 50 years, especially the last 20 years a good number have been produced. As to your specimen, weigh it, a real one ounce silver item should weigh 31.1g, and test by seeing if a magnet sticks to it. Silver is definitely not magnetic, so if a magnet sticks to it, then it is a counterfeit item.

My LCS carries these in their "silver rounds" selection. . .very common.
