CAC - The 1936-M Roosevelt-Quezon Peso was produced in 1936 and commemorates the founding of the Commonwealth of the Philippines. The obverse features the first Philippine Commonwealth president, Manuel L. Quezon, and U.S. president Franklin D. Roosevelt. The portrait of Roosevelt is strikingly similar to that on circulating Roosevelt U.S. dimes, which were not issued for another 10 years. The same original artwork likely inspired both portraits of Roosevelt. This piece is graded CAC MS66+.
