I have a couple of Dansco Albums for my circulated coins but for the modern Uncirculated and Proof coin series, I was wanting to use CAPS Albums with Airtites. However considering there are at least 20 albums I would need and because of their massive size, I am reconsidering and thinking about using Dansco. But I am worried the coins especially the proofs would start to tone. I've seen pics of Silver proof quarters with odd golden tone to them. I would hate to invest in all of that just to have them look bad. I know alot has to do with where they are stored but I do live in California and we don't have the bad humidity as some places. Has anyone had any issues with proofs or silver BU coins in the Dansco's?

I do still plan to use some CAPS albums especially for my Lincoln Cents (but I will have a 2nd set in Dansco) and for my Innovation and probably the Sacagawea dollars since the golden tone coins do tone somewhat. So I am not completely given up on them, just don't know if I can house that many large albums. Dansco's would take up considerable less space, plus I love the way they look. Also with the way the Mint pumps out the quarter designs that album requirement will just keep going up and up

I know the majority of members on here use Dansco so I'm hoping to get alot of feedback, good or bad.

So far, I haven't noticed any of my proofs toning or anything. I've had some Jefferson proofs in a Dansco for around a year now.

It might be a different story however having them in there for years and years. Evidently, using one of those Dansco slipcovers over your album helps with toning I've read.
I don't generally collect proof coins outside of that, so I can't really comment on anything personally outside of my Jeffersons personally.

I probably in my case wouldn't be terribly upset if some of them had some slight toning, as none of the Jefferson proofs I have are particularly valuable. The most valuable proof I have is the SBA 1981 type 2, which is also housed in a Dansco. I'm curious to see what will happen to it over time.

My oldest Dansco albums will be 41 years old next month. I have no complaints, and I do not even use slipcases!

The most important thing is where you store them: a dark place with stable temperature and low humidity.

Wow you've added since the last time I saw your pic.
It does seem that way sometimes, especially when they are the two page albums for common coins.

I have to admit that a few of my albums are worth more than the coins in them.
