I acquired this in a lot of civil war tokens about 10 years ago that I am going back through now since it's no longer a collecting interest of mine. Most likely going to end up getting it certified/graded, unless there is some serious evidence of it being some spurious piece.

Judging from its content I assume it must be some type of civil war Sutlers token, but I cannot find anything on this particular unit having any such token - or really much info online about specific sutler tokens at all. I don't have any reference book on Sutler's tokens, and don't want to spend the money for just 1 lookup that might not even be there.

I have matched the reverse (as poor condition as it is) to "John Stanton Stamp & Brand Cutter Cincinatti", who research says did produce a number of other Sutler's tokens.

Does anyone who collects or has knowledge on Sutler's tokens have any information on or can possibly help verify probable legitimacy of this piece?
