Well the last time I posted, silver was at $60. I finally made it to a coin show for the first time in about 6 months, the Houston Money Show in Conroe, TX. Junk silver selling for $61X face & paying 55X face. Cull Silver dollars $75 each. I talked to the owner of a local coin store, and he said the line was wrapped around the building yesterday morning at opening. I'm still holding onto mine.

There is a common theme that everyone expects silver to be much higher in the near future. Just keep in mind where we were only a short time ago. The effect of this is changing our hobby both thru the influx of new people coming in and the massive melting we are seeing. For me, it's hard to resist the 50ish to 1 ratio being offered here to gold. Interesting times indeed.

I bought a lot of junk silver as a inflation hedge. But I was surprised that there was quite a few pre1965 coins that looked really nice. I separated them out to go through them to see if there was anything special.

Well, what was your impression? Were they buyers or sellers or looky-loos?

I was there 15 minutes after opening, and it was already packed. Coins were flying out the door. In talking with a couple of dealers that had just attended the FUN show, they sold out. Sounds like dealers are going to have a hard time keeping up with demand, JMHO.

Fun. My last silver acquisition was a '67 Canada Centennial coin set (red presentation box)--almost four years ago.

Just think about it, $90 is a bargain now.
