1985 D Nickel For Grading - Coin Community Forum

Fxenterprise1 New Member United States 15 Posts	Posted 03/03/2026 11:44 am I came across a roll of 1985 nickels and most are really nice. Some have corrosion damage along the edge's. panzaldi Bedrock of the Community United States 18627 Posts	Posted 03/04/2026 09:30 am i cant see how a coin with surfaces like this was never circulated. it looks like it went through a rock tumbler. to answer your question. number and size of marks on the rim can affect both grade and value. the reverse rim hits are pretty deep. the bigger concern are all the scratches on both sides. if it is uncirculated, MS60. if it was circulated then I dont think it would make AU58 with all those marks so I would net it to AU53 Report this Post to the Staff
