I found an interesting penny roll today. Nice variety of CND 1 cent coins. I think every coin in the roll except 2 or 3 were CND. I'm happy with this score!

For me, only the pre-1960s would be keepers, but it is definitely a fun find none-the-less. As to how they ended up in rolls in the US, I always assumed it was a bit of arbitrage on the part of the previous owner--making 25 or 30% just by this swap.

Instead of making a new topic I'll just post this here. I found this today in a different roll. Crazy to find something from another country this old!!

Amazing find!
You couldn't have found one older.
1920 was the first year for small cents in Canada.

Thank you! I am a few hours from Canada but I don't see many of the old pre 1940's here. I actually pulled almost the entire 1942-2012 series from circulation a decade ago however I've never come across a 1954 or a 2012. Once I get those my set will be complete. I even bought a generic "cents" dansco album for them. Maybe one day I will come across the final two I need but at this point I can barely get pennies from the bank anymore so it's not looking good. I only have 3 of the 1920-1941 series though, I never see those. It was cool to pull the 1920, it was a hole filler!

I only collect Canadian pennies before 1960 also.

I have some extras of some years if anyone needs any.

My oldest Canadian penny found in CRH was a 1933.
