Or die issue? I know the coin is fairly worn, but I don't think it's PMD.

Interesting, would appear to be a planchet issue. An accurate wight to two decimal places could tell us more. Thanks.

OK, my scale only goes to tenths of a gram, and this weighed in at 2.5 grams.

Here are some better full photos, as well as some close-ups. Certainly has the look of a lamination error on closer inspection. I see that a lot less on silver coins.
