Indian1 Pillar of the Community United States 3640 Posts	Posted 06/29/2009 1:15 pm I was checking out some rolls for the 1988 RDV-006 and decided to keep a few 87's and 89's for comparison. This is on the Des. initials "FG" by the way. I did some research and have read that the 89 / 005 does not actually exist. It was considered just an over abraded 006 Rev. die. LDS Is that set in stone ? Reason being is I found one and it does not fit the reverse attributes of the 006. No dies scratches, no excessive wear at the curl of the G etc. The FG looks just like a normal 88 or 87. Probably just opening a can of worms here. I will have to do my best to get pics. and post. Coin seens to be VF/EF darker brown. First pic. is dig. with some adjustments (no, not paint:) to highlight and focus on the FG. Interesting though how the F looks more like the 005 then the 006 and also, why does the FG part of the die wear at a rate faster then the rest of the obverse devices ?
