But at some point it had been polished. In the balance of things, how much does the polishing effect this coin's worth? And is this considered a key date? The PCGS price guide range for this coin goes from $145 in G4 to $945 in MS64...With a mintage of 657,000. I would definitely call it at least a semi-key. I don't know how many have survived in total, or in XF45, or what the demand is like for this coin. I think the harsh cleaning will easily knock off 50% minimum. Serious collectors who pay big money for coins will usually stay away from cleaned coins, unless the coin is an absolute rarity.
