Wood Grain Coins - What's The Deal?

Is a wood-grain coin worth more, less or the same as a "normal" coin of the same grade? Or is collecting "woodies" a matter of preference, like the way some people collect toned coins? To me they are like toning on a silver coin, the value (usually) does not go up but the eye appeal does. There are some that try to collect sets of just woodies because of their look. I know that I have a few, but do not go out of my way to find them, but I also do not put them with the regular coins as well. Report this Post to the Staff
