triggersmob Pillar of the Community Australia 9414 Posts	Posted 06/15/2006 07:07 am I was just going through my Aussie 10 cent pieces, putting them into 2 x 2's and I noticed my 1985 coin has no reeding around it. Likely explanations are: - it had normal reeding but somehow wore off without wearing the rest of the design. Being used eg. to test vending machines might do that. - it could be a mint error, though in that case it probably shouldn't have a rim at all; it should be "broadstruck". I can't see any way a "plain edge" 10¢ could be made without making a special plain collar die just for that purpose. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff

triggersmob Pillar of the Community Australia 9414 Posts	Posted 06/16/2006 07:28 am I just weighed the coin on some scales I use to use for weighing gunpowder. I compared it to a brand new coin and they both weight the same at 86.4 grains = 5.6 grams. Steve Report this Post to the Staff
