I read this sellers listing and he states that he does not take paypal and there is a 7 day return policy. I asked the following question:

"Dear 5440,

Do you offer a return policy if this item is sent to a grading company and deemed not a mint error? This would take up to 30 - 45 days after auction ended. Thank you.."

His response was to Block Me From Bidding......Maybe he just doesn't like questions....

Here is the listing:

I asked a similar question. asked him to extend his return time and If the coin can not be certified, to give all the money back.
His replay: ?NONE
His actions: BLOCKED ME FROM BIDDING

my guess? another shyster trying to scam people.
My second guess: he does not have the coin
check this color... I tried to play with it to find the original color...NOT possible.... it is probably painted or is heated and was fire engine red..

If I understand ebay policy - Paypal would be the only protection.
Not saying his wrong planchet, brockage, double struck coin is anything but what he says but
A recent auction of his would cause me to exercise caution

Exercise caution..great advice..

I can only compare this to my listing I had for a 1892 OBV 2 large cent and the question I received from a potential buyer who ended up buying the item and after receiving it he left positive feed back. Just goes to show that being direct with up front & honest communication is the best policy.

Question and answer is as follows:

"HI SIR, CAN YOU CONFIRMED ME THAT IT IS AN OBVERSE 2 ; BECAUSE IF I WIN THE BID, I WILL SEND THE COIN FOR CERTIFICATION, ICCS ( BRIAN CORNWELL). BEST REGARDS JACQUES"

"Hello Jacques, Yes it is a Obv 2. Send me your email address and I will send you more pictures. I would also check into sending it to CCCS in QC. as I know they do a good job in grading. I will back that up by saying if the Graders say it is not a OBV 2 I will refund your money plus $15.00 for grading fee as long as you return this coin (there are always marks on coins for id) in the grading holder."

just sent a question
quote:
if I won this item and I sent it in to NGC or PCGS, it would take 60 days, what if it is not a genuine mint error, will you not accept returns?

Place Bid

Hello XXXXX (Not you?)

Transaction Blocked
Unfortunately, this seller has decided that you are not permitted to bid on their listings. You may contact the seller via the Ask Seller Questions feature if you want additional details.
Please note: You may not use other ebay accounts to bid on this seller's listings. Doing so may result in your indefinite suspension from ebay.

The above was the response I received when I placed a bid on this item..And I have had no dealings or past history with this seller.

lafaa123.. so far you are lucky, maybe you will not get blocked..

I'd questioned on him on a previous item (wanted to know if I could have a higher res pic of a bank note sale) and was blocked.

If that colour is accurate, I'd say that the copper was annealed.

The fact that he can't or won't take paypal and sells some odd items then blocks anyone who asks a question is pretty much a no go for me, I wouldn't care if he was selling dollar bills for a dime.

No way to tell before hand if you are blocked that I am aware of. A persons blocked bidder list is confidential, you can't search them en masse.

lafaa123... you have no worries as this will go for more than $90.00. If a miracle happens and you do get it for $90.00.. I will go half and half with you $45.00 each and we will send it to CCCS to see if its authentic. If its not we can remind the seller it is a crimmal offence to sell fake Canadian coins. You have nothing to be concerned about here..Matter of fact for $90.00 I would buy it from you..

Ugly ( I feel terrible saying that when referring to some one ) You hit the nail right on the head...I wouldn't give this seller a dime also..
