Posting the size is always helpful. In this particular case, there are two coins from the Indian state of Indore with this exact same design, 1/4 anna and 1/2 anna. Comparing the pics in Krause, I think this is a 1/2 anna (KM# 35.3, 31mm across)); a 1/4 anna (KM# 33.3) would be 27mm across. The date is 1958 in the Vikramasamvat calendar, or 1901 AD.

Many thanks! The first picture is the reverse (please rotate 180º);
the size is 31 mm, must be 1/2 Anna VS 1958 from Indore Mint.
