the coloring of the coin makes me question it like the artifically gave it the color to hide any obscure marks caused from metal working and I dont believe its Au-58 more a EF.. But I can easily be wrong

thats exactly what I thought when I saw it, the 5 looked all wrong but then again I never saw a 1895-P Morgan so I didnt know what to think. seems some people sure are wanting the thing though

Yeah, the shill bidders want it pretty badly.

If I'm correct, all the dies for Morgans were produced at Philadelphia; there shouldn't be a whole lot of difference between the actual look of the digits in the date. Since they were punched by hand, I can understand differing locations. I would think the 5's would all be the same, though, considering the extremely low number of total 1895 dies produced - 52 for all mints combined - when compared to a "normal" year when well over 100 would be required for Philadelphia alone. I should think the same date punch probably sufficed for all of them.
