Been 10 days since my last hunt.. was not going to miss out this morning. Went back to the soccer complex that just keeps producing. this time played around the trash cans. I have avoided this area for a long time as pinpointing was next to impossible. Started today at first light on the edge of the trash field and gradually worked my way in the 15feet to the trash can. I was about half done when the heat and humidity got to be too much. That was at 7:30 am.... Some one is in big trouble me thinks loosing their engagement ring.. 18K gold and I assume the diamond is real. No idea how much its worth but that's a moot point as it has mysteriously found its way onto my wife's finger...

Hey! Thanks not a bad find, I would agree with you that the diamond is real. Its not all that big and for someone to spend the extra for 18k I'm sure it is real.

I can see it now, 2 youngsters in love out for a walk. A brand new ring on her finger and then he says something dumb. She takes the ring off her finger and throws it towards the trashcan and misses. She runs away, he follows not thinking about the ring. They kiss and make up, but can't find the ring because of the darkness. Congrats, the ring has a new home.

Good the diamond doesn't look damaged either...probably under 0.5ct The locking carabiner is useful too...that will hold a lot of weight.

Hey NoHope, what kinda MD are you using? Have been going thru some a your posts. You seem to locate quite a lot in a very short period of time on each trip. Also you seem to dig up lots and lotsa pull-tabs so I assume you dig everything. Are you using a Lesche for digging? You sure seem to be doing a lot of it. Sorry for the questions but I'm new at this and still trying to get acclimated enough with my MD to where I can start pulling some stuff up. James...

My son works for Lesche and makes those digging tools. How do you like them?

I use an Ace 250. Pinpointing on it is good enough that 90% of the time I can just slide a screwdriver into the dirt and flip out the target. I do have a Lesche type tool but rarely use it. Yes I dig everything the ACE is a an entry machine and it has a hard time distinguishing between a pull tab/foil and gold. If you don't dig those targets you will hardly ever find gold.
