it seems a P01 morgan is rarer than a MS-66 morgan and people actually pay a premium for the P01 because of this. I have heard of people building P01 registry sets and they are the one who pays the premium for these low grade coins

I'm not sure how to tell you this, but the pics you posted appear to have shown coins that are slightly circulated

And I thought my walker was well circulated! Some people have been getting P-01 coins slabbed. I just wish I could see the PCGS guys debating "Is this an AG-3 or a P-01?"

a P01 coin is hard to find on ebay slabbed because I think the only people that slab these things are the ones with the registry sets and they aint selling, but when one does come up it usually sells for alot higher than you would think because it received the lowest grade possible. Like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/1799-PCGS-P01-L...ER_W0QQitemZ a href= https://www.coincommunity.com/go/link.asp?target=https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/320017231856 target= _blank rel= nofollow 320017231856 /a QQihZ011QQcategoryZ11976QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I like the way they put "POP 4 (w/NONE LOWER - GUARANTEED)" in the auction

So besides a collectors opinion, what is the attraction to these types of coins?

Yankee, that is the coolest Kennedy I have ever seen....if you want to trade for it, I am up to the task....
Madhandles, The history of what the coin has been through is the attraction.

Mike, that's the worndest coin I ever did see!

Bryan, how angry do you think that guy would have been if it had come back an F-02? Personally, I'd have given it a 2....

I have no idea, I probably would never even think of slabbing a coin like this but it seems to be paying off to the ones who do

Nice! Can you tell what the date is? Here's mine, it is a 1964P:

Here-Is-How-I-Like-'Em-!!!
Here-Is-How-I-Like-'Em-!!!

Here is a seated half that I like too. It is a 1861 IIRC:

Here-Is-How-I-Like-'Em-!!!

I think the Kennedy could get into a PO1 slab, but if yours has an unidentifyable date the it wouldn't be able to. Too bad too, because yours is nicer (more worn) than mine.
