Went to the local regions bank today in Cookeville. Bought 4 Dime Rolls, 5 Nickel Rolls, and 2 Halves. After going through all the rolls, I found one 1987 Canadian Nickel, a 1957 D BU Jefferson, and that's really about it. I did get a BU Roll of 1971 Halves. The other roll was full of crappy Halves that were mostly damaged. For the most part I feel like I had bad luck :/ eh there is always tomorrow

I realize you are a college student, but seriously, don't get too down you only have $50 to work with.

I will listen to your sob stories when you get to the Thousands searched without a keeper.

Just keep at it, its gonna take a while but you will run the mother lode sooner or later.

... Keep your head up, it takes a good while to hone your roll-hunting skills, and a dash of good luck... At least you can get rolls of halves in your area

Sorry about the bad luck. I am in the same shoes as you, I can only search about $10 a week.

50$ is not a lot when you start buying halves and larger denomination coins

If your looking for more coins to search , try buying 2 boxes of cents .

That will give you a lot of chances to find varieties, errors, wheats and so on

I can pretty much make the statement " search two boxes and you will find something "

I always find something in a box.
My most recent finds although I have not had time the last few weeks to search have been
worn g-grade 1912-d , 1960-p small date ,1955-d rpm ,wheats usually 15-20 per box sometimes more

most banks have them just need to ask normally they will need to go to the vault to get them so I normally ask when they are not busy
and for the folks on the cheap next time you get 50 cents or more in change at the gas station ask for a roll of cents instead of 2 quarters that is if you see they have a roll in the till
