Excellent Find!! Congratulations indeed! I give several dancing fruit for this one ... Your example is perhaps the most circulated of any roll-find 50-D that I have seen here at the CCF ... Several of us have found an example in rolls ... my roll find 50-D is AU-55 ... This is an interesting paradox .... millions of these hoarded as MS coins ... very few available in circulated condition ... and yours is VF30/XF40 in my opinion. To me ... that makes this coin 'worth' more than a MS65 example. Great find indeed ... Thanks for sharing. David

There are some world stamps worth more postally used (cancelled) than mint, because the countries disappeared before they had a chance to use many.

Quote: Your example is perhaps the most circulated of any roll-find 50-D that I have seen here at the CCF ... Not surprising since it was actually in circulation and was not a roll find. It's quite possible it has been circulating for a long time just waiting to fall into the right hands.

I have never found a 50D in circulation, but have just swapped a bu for 2 circulated ones with a member here (will complete my two circculated sets). I have been buying bu's for awhile, currently have about 15.

I have to confess that I bought mine. I could spend an entire lifetime searching, but I don't think I'd ever pull one from circulation in my part of the world. Actually, I got a little carried away and bought two!

One of the things that has always bothered me lately is how bad my eyesight is getting in the past few years. I know I miss out on a lot of coins due to it. Even with reading glasses I can't always make out the dates. Pretty soon I'm going to have to Google search for "seeing eye dog". You think any of them can read the dates on coins?
