I was just looking thru my collection and thought that the picture in the guides don't do these coins justice. So, I thought I'd share this picture with you.

Australia actually owns part of the Antarctic? I didn't know that. I guess you really do learn things from coins.



Edit: I went to wikipedia and read up on this and it is very interesting. I had no idea so many countries were claiming a big piece of frozen ice.

Yep, they're all there waiting on someone to start exploiting it first. It'll be a sad day when that eventually happens.

There are a few other coins in the series along with the Mawson station...they are also nice
