wmd New Member Canada 41 Posts	Posted 04/24/2011 6:41 pm Hey all, Just looking for some opinions on a cool find I made today looking through some pennies. I came across a 1914 Wheat cent and am having a little trouble finding info on it. I've read some things about 1914 D and 1914 S, but have come across nothing about a 1914 no mint mark. I'm from Canada, and possess no knowledge of US coin. Any help would be appreciated very much! Annnd while I'm at it I also found: 1938 no mint mark cent 1953 D cent 1956 D cent Are any of these special/rare? * Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. * Report this Post to the Staff

jpsned Pillar of the Community United States 2204 Posts	Posted 04/24/2011 11:37 pm The 1914 penny with no mintmark was minted in Philadelphia. Any Lincoln Penny that has no mintmark was/is minted in Philadelphia. The 1914-D penny is one of the key dates in the series; the 1914-S is much more common. The other three--1938 (Philadelphia), 1953-D and 1956-D, as well as the 1914-P are all quite common and are not rare at all. That said, it's always a nice surprise to find a Wheat penny! Even though the ones you found are not "rare" in the sense that they would be valuable, it is rare to find one out of the blue. Report this Post to the Staff
