SBA Dollar Souvenir Sets

I know they were sold over the counter at the gift shops at the mint. I don't believe the 79's or 80's were sold through the mint's mailing list. I know the 81's were sold through the mints mailing list years later but I don't know if they were sold on the mailing list in 1981. They were also sold over the counter at the Mint's booth at the ANA.

These also come in yellow envelopes. The '79-P near date is the only variety that appears in any souvenir mint sets from 1971? to 1998. The '79 and '80 sets are considered quite common and don't bring much of a premium. These are run of the mill coins and not of mint set quality. The '81 set has a substantial premium (~$12). The '79 set deserves more respect since the San Francisco coin did not appear in the regular mint set and some are very choice.
