pictured are two 1989P Lincoln's. there is a dramatice color difference betweent the two. the one on the left is almost a brassy yellow color. can anyone give me some insights here. thanks.

Look at a couple I just found. The 1981 is golden, the 2006 brassy and the 2007 "normal."1989-P-LMC---Distinct-Color-Difference

It couldn't be a mint plating. Coins that year are not plated. This started in 1982. I think it is toning. I've seen that on coins I've found of the solid copper coins.
