Very cool. I would jump on that also.

As others stated, worst that happens is you just spend/deposit them.

Best case you get some morgan or Peace dollars in there.

It's probably just a customer's rolled coin that they deposited into the bank. I know at my bank, whenever one branch has stockpiled half dollars, we send any customer's that inquire about half dollars to that branch. We never order any half dollars or dollar coins, unless a customer wants a HUGE amount of them ahead of time.

Still wouldn't hurt to go through, like everyone else said, Ike's go for more than face value typically if you sell them, and if not they're worth the price you paid for :D

Nothing wrong with that. An uninformed depositor may have turned in something nice.

Dunno about the probability of finding something rare, but they're 100% that you won't find anything with them sitting in the bank.

OK.....been through one bag so far ( 100 coins per bag ) and not anything noteworthy so far. All Ikes and all bussiness strikes. Am working through the 72's for types...will update as things go along. Being that it is my son's birthday to to tomorrow I may not get to the rest til the weekend....sorry to keep everyone in suspense longer than needed. I haven't even opened the other two as I want to keep the suspense going til after my sons birthday, I don't want to be distracted on his big day, that would just be selfish of me.

The suspense is what keeps us tuning in.

A coin birthday idea: my aunt love dimes. It does not matter if they are modern or silver, she will not spend them when she gets them in change. She literally has hoarded them for the last 30+ years.

One of her birthdays, my cousin was broke @ 19 years old and decided to give her dimes. He went to her home, put a dime on the floor and spaced them 1 foot apart to the breakfast table (maybe 20 feet?) and put a bowl of 100 dimes on the table. $10.20 was a fortune to him at that time. That was nearly 20 years ago and last week at dinner she reminded him about how much she loved that!

Maybe hide and seek with Ike?

Edit: they were modern dimes...

Anything good?

I have been able to order $500 worth several times and it was always worth the effort. Have found Morgans on a couple occassions, several proofs & 40% silver, a couple 72 Type II's, and lots of great MS specimens.

ok...finally got through them all after my company left. Sad to say but the Ikes were mostly all 71 and 72 and bicentenials. No proof, no silver, and nothing even remotely in good condition. I hope I can get another batch soon...am getting hooked on the "wagon wheels" lol
