Canadian Silver

I search rolls of USA nickels and cents but have the advantage in that the obverse has remained the same for many years. So the chances of finding older coins is easier. But the whole point of roll searching for me is to find that variety that is worth much more. Since Canadian coins seem to change the monarch portrait constantly, people are more aware of the older coins, hence those are typically removed from circulation.

Stick with halves. Go to banks outside your locale. Small town banks are best. Few banks like to deal with halves and when they get them they usually get tucked somewhere. This is where I've had my greatest success when asking for rolls at the bank. I had a wonderful score about five years ago. I asked for halves at a small town bank. The girl brought out not a roll but a small bag and dumped them on the counter. Every one was silver, the oldest being 1919.

Yea I'm going out to a very Northern Ontario town in a few day, definately think I'll give it a shot :)
