Hello,

A few days ago I purchased eight victoria 5 cents from a local coin dealer for a dollar a piece. This 1898 was the best of the lot. I was wondering what its grade and value might be.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated,
Xavier Of Green

Sorry if my grade is off a little, I am still relatively new to grading Canadian Coinage.

VF-20/25 Could be higher, if there is more detail in the hair. (Hard to tell from the scans)
66th Edition Charlton Catalogue lists the coin at $60 in VF-20 (580,000 Minted)

You are having amazing luck buying Canadian Coins recently!

I would like to see the other coins you purchased as well.

I would agree at VF-20, course its eye appeal leaves alot to be desired so, it would never be worth its graded value..

I'd go F-15, factoring in any undesirable eye appeal.
