I was watching this at an auction, but I do not think this is really a Cud. My skepticism is based on the fact that the rim is visible. Please tell me if I was wrong. It sold for $95

1944-LWC-Cud? 1944-LWC-Cud?

Opinions?

Looks like a Cud to me. The rim showing in the Cud area would be from the rim upsetting machine. The reverse shows a weak strike opposite the Cud, which is a sign of authenticity.

A very impressive Cud! Probably worth the money, IMO.

I definitely need to work on my error identifying skills! That is why I have yet to purchase any error coins - I have problems picking out the real McCoy.
