I recently opened a sealed 1959 proof set envelope and very happily discovered a Franklin proof half with a DDR; FS-801 designation. I have seen graded examples listed for up to $350 on ebay, any idea what it's value should be still in the mint flat pack? Thanks!!

Congrats on your find!

Tried to help you out on this and checked my copy of the Cherrypickers'Guide, 5th Edition, Vol # 2 (2012) and unfortunately, there is no listing for a 1959 Franklin Proof.

Thanks, I have checked that and some other references, looked online also. any ideas about modern us coin error books for quarters, halves, dimes etc that has pics of errors; (like the "authoritative reference on modern cents" by Wexler/Flynn) and lists id markers for identification?

I can only find the FS-801 associated with circulation strike Franklin halves. Maybe you could post an image of your coin.
