argentum Pillar of the Community United States 1195 Posts	Posted 11/09/2012 10:53 pm This will be hard to photograph with my minimal equipment, so I wont until I have better lighting available. I have a George Washington dollar coin. It has the requisite edge lettering. The edge also displays irregular cracks running longwise (perpendicular to how reeding would run) all around the coin. Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 11/12/2012 12:38 pm Interesting. The "cracks" definitely appear to be incuse into the edge of the coin. If the edge die had cracked they would show as raised lines on the edge of the coin. I'm wondering if what you may be seeing is one of the brass layers starting to delaminate away from the copper core due to the pressure of the edge die impressing the lettering.
