Paypal is just too high - 2.9% +.30! Any good alternatives for a seller? I have to offer either paypal or a merchant account..... Ive seen a few for around 2.5 but I may as well use paypal for that. Any suggestions please let me know :-)

Paypal may be high for some costs but they are because they know what it costs to set up a merchant account on your own.
2.5% is just the start. you also have monthly fees too.
Although I truly hate dealing with EBay/Paypal, I haven't found another way for a small business on ebay to accept credit cards.
There are a large amount of people that wont even look at a listing without Paypal being accepted.

Steve,

You are so right! People really do not want to buy without paypal- they've got a corner on the market and know it! So does ebay- their fees are astronomical! I recently signed up with a different auction site (which I wont list because I'm less than 50 posts) but there is no traffic on it. Ive got Morgan dollars listed at $12 buy it now and they cant even sell.... lol its crazy :-) I want to mix their seller fees with ebay's buyers!

I remember using bidpay about 3-5 years ago, and it was much simpler than paypal. Who knows how it is now? I think they should have something where you can pay from your credit card, would be easier too.
