Looks like a stain/residue on the coin. Is it incuse in that area? If not, then it is probably a stain/residue on the coin. A rinse under water might remove it. Possible milk that dried? I see it on other areas of the coins devices.

yes it it incise in that area, I ran a toothpick across it and can feel the "bump" it is not a stain

i'll try another close scan

I see what looks like paint also on the coin. A close view of the area in question might show me something?

bout as close as I can get Coop..any closer and you are going to have to pull me out of that crack! is it a die crack?

does not look like a hit to me, looks like a crack

A die crack is raised. This is incuse. Sot it is either damage or a struck through. In the depths of the channel is is rounded or jagged? Ragged may mean damage. Rounded might mean a struck through something. Wire leaves a nice rounded mark. Thread also the same, but fiber can be squared. I see it running over the rim. So it may be damage.

It's not a die crack, it's just a gouge in the coin. A die crack would be raised.
