Look at the left of the top of the blunder.
There is a residue clump(silver deposit)on both coins below.
Also look at the lower tynes--same shape on both coins

Nice pics lambecolin. Have you considered that it's an I of a different font punched slightly askew with more pressure at the top.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Everything about these blunders confuse me.
A punch would explain a lot---especially the missing one half denticle. Do you think the punch was applied before the legends?
