I have to admit it, ebay sellers are some of the most creative when it comes to marketing. This one made me chuckle a bit. However it is more plausible than the worn out cigar box found in grandfather clock listings that were once the dominant shame.

The canning jar and screw top is too modern. Doesn't match the coins era. Gets high marks for smile value though.

This is true, but he does state that it is a recreation of one of his grandpa's detecting finds. I have detected a few old whiskey still sites and all I have ever found was some rusty old nails and barrel stays.
