I'm 99.99% certain that I know what this is, but I have a relatively good reason for being 0.01% uncertain. I'll reveal that reason after you good folks tell me whether this is the small date, or large date. Thanks for looking.

Nice Small date. Love the inside curl of the 9 pointed directly at the 7. a mushy "Liberty" and the 7 does appear to be level with the other 3 devices. Congratulations You have a Winner and a nice one at that

Okay. I am satisfied that we're all on the same page. This is a small date variety. Here is why I was 0.01% uncertain

Who sells a MS 1970 S Small Date LMC for $1.00? I even asked the clerk if it was a small date and he said "Do you mean a 1982 small date?" I explained there was a 1970 S small date variety and he assured me that the shop owner would have marked the 2x2 if it was a variety. Oh well. I tried. Now I know what everyone means when the say "buy the coin, not the holder."

Correct ... confirming all the other expert opinions ... this is a 1970-S small date.

Nice cherrypick ... good that you had the knowledge to buy the coin .. and not the holder!

You might want to ask if they have any more for a buck!

Small date and nice score! Perhaps they have a roll to sell.

There were two more in case. Believe me, I checked them very carefully. No dice.

Funny you should mention that. I collect BU rolls of LMC's. It is impossible to find a full roll of these. I've tried. I have to put together this roll one coin at time. This one is number 8. 42 more to go.
