Just a curiosity, perhaps someone can enlighten me a bit.
1875 CC $20 has a reverse type 3 with TWENTY DOLLARS, but it was not minted on other $20 until 1877. Why Carson City mint used the newest revers two years earlier?

The dies were all made at the same time,, if the coin has the wrong reverse for the year ? then its not real .

I was checking the official Red Book Double Eagle Gold Coins, 2004 edition, on page 144 1875 CC, has a type3 reverse. So I guess the picture of the reverse must be wrong (from different date).
