This coin is from an auction ending tonight on ebay. Just wondering, is there any historical significance to the star counterstamp?

Cool New Jersey.
I personally don't know much about counterstamps. Maybe ExoGuy can help. As far as historical significance I think this is just a generic counterstamp with no particular significance.
