hi here we have a Russian coin from late 19th century turned into a medallion, the coin is made of silver. It weighs 20.32 grams and is 33mm in diameter any info on the coin would be much appreciated
It's a Ruble from 1892, featuring the bust of Alexander the third. The coin is made out of .894 silver. Your coin is the most common of its type with a mintage of above 2 million. For one who can read cyrillic, the font is just... about illegible. Kind of the gothic font used on Nazi Era coins in Germany, but a little better.
The coin has taken some hits to it and is moderately worn. The added medallion ring hurts the value, because most collectors want their coins 'intact' and clean without extra things sticking out of it (including me) I have an experience that many Imperial Russia coins were turned into some kind of jewelry or decorative buttons, possibly because of their beautiful design.
