Hey y'all, is this 1979 s SBA dollar the type 1 or type 2? And is it spendable or worth keeping in the collection book? Boy, it sure is windy in Los Smogeles tonight! Thanks - Slymer

I can't suggest what to do with it but, it's definitely Far Date, Narrow Rim. The MM type is beyond me.

Also, this doesn't look like a proof to me. SF did a run of circulation strikes for the SBA dollar (almost 110 million). None of those have a "type" or "near vs. far" distinction.

All 1979-S business strike SBAs have the indistinct Type I mintmark and the narrow rim/wide rim only applies to 1979-P issues.

Here's some more info based on the actual proof coins I have. Hope this helps. These can be very confusing sometimes.
