I have never seen markings like this on a coin before, and was wondering if this is a die cast error and maybe worth hanging onto? Thank you for any advice you may be able to provide!

This is called a " Dryer Coin", it got stuck in a(usually industrial) dryer and the heat + rolling motion folded the edge inward.

heres a good thread about it:

to CCF. Would like to see the other side. Have not seen a Dryer Coin like that before. It is however not an error coin,it is PSD=Post Strike Damage.

, with John1. Odd looking bevel added after strike. Curious about the reverse. Thanks, Doug.
