Any ideas about this coin? The lettering looks like from indian coins but I couldn't find any similar coin.

Recommend searching Vijayanagar Feudatories, although that's just an initial thought.

The writing appears to be kannada (Canarese) script, used in South India. I agree, could be a Vijayanagar feudatory or Madurai Nayaks.

Here's the closest one I found on Zeno, though I can't tell whether it's a match or not. Perhaps you can tell better with the coin in hand.
