Not sure if this is an exact match but there does seem to be a lot of similarities....Maybe a good starting point...
Both the OP coins photos are upside down..So I've spun them 180 deg...

These Akbar square rupees with the "988" date are often replicated for use as religious pilgrimage medals - the Islamimc equivalent of the Hindu "temple tokens". See some examples on these zeno.ru pages.
