1809 Half Cents - Real? - Research Guidance

Two questions: 1- does this look real? 2- if it's worth my time researching, any suggested sites? I also have a second 1809 but slightly lower grade. Novice attempt here - but does this one look XF45 ? (Used PGCS photograde) Report this Post to the Staff

johnjkedel Pillar of the Community United States 594 Posts	Posted 01/03/2021 12:49 pm My opinion : the photo resolution isn't good enough to show surface detail .... yes it does look real .... it appears to be a grade between 45 and 53....not a scarce year so I'm not sure what more research you would want to do. If the surfaces are nice then it is a very nice example of the 1809. Others will surely have maybe better opinions. Welcome to CCF Report this Post to the Staff

Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 01/05/2021 04:05 am Yes clearly C-6 a common variety, looks to be most likely Breen die stage II or III. Breen also says this variety is known to come with various die rotations. Report this Post to the Staff
