1986 P Or D? PMD To Mint Or Something Else?

Found this 1986 quarter with possible PMD to the mint mark. I am just trying to teach myself hoe to recognize different errors. I initially thought this was a P mint mark with PMD but the more I look at it the less sure I am. Any opinions?

It looks like you can see damage across what appears to be a P mm. The damage runs east to west at a slightly southerly angle into the hair, it just chopped off the P. The D mm for this year is larger.
