1970 D Jefferson Nickel Help? - Coin Community Forum

Zander2014 Valued Member United States 140 Posts	Posted 12/11/2021 10:20 pm Today I got this nickel with my son. It looked demolished. All I thought was environmental damage. Nothing big. Then I look and on the obverse side. All around rim looks as if melting extar metal, the neck is a dot as if no neck, ribbon is pushed up high on coin, and date. I took pictures of areas of concern. On reverse side rim looks like melting metal, building looks weird on left side, crack on top,no artist intials on right. No word FIVE the metal looks as if was stamped again with different impression. Just would like to know why its like this. Entire coin looks weird. Hope you can help? Report this Post to the Staff

I agree this is just post mint damage, no error here, spend it. Keep looking! FYI, extreme closeups that are blurry are of no help to us.
