A "well worn" coin used in commerce during that time has quite a story to tell! Perhaps one of our "Founding Fathers" even handled it?

This is what originally got my interest in coins...the physical connection to history. I figure the more of those beater early coins I hoard, the more likely I will have shared a piece with one of the greats!

Large cents of 1794, 1795, 1797. They are PO1-AG3, so can't brag too much. But I think the series is fantastic and just hoping to slowly build a budget friendly date set just to say to myself I did it.

OK, first the honorable mention since this technically isn't a "U.S." coin:

What-Are-Your-Top-3-Oldest-US-Coins? What-Are-Your-Top-3-Oldest-US-Coins?

As for the official "top three":

What-Are-Your-Top-3-Oldest-US-Coins? What-Are-Your-Top-3-Oldest-US-Coins?

What-Are-Your-Top-3-Oldest-US-Coins? What-Are-Your-Top-3-Oldest-US-Coins?

What-Are-Your-Top-3-Oldest-US-Coins? What-Are-Your-Top-3-Oldest-US-Coins?

And a bonus:

What-Are-Your-Top-3-Oldest-US-Coins? What-Are-Your-Top-3-Oldest-US-Coins?

[This is currently my entire collection of pre-1800 coinage]
